TikTok has introduced an AI chatbot called Tako that uses a third-party generative AI model to suggest videos based on users’ queries. Tako is currently being tested in the Philippines, although TikTok has not yet announced whether the feature will be rolled out more widely. The move follows rival social media site Snapchat’s debut of its My AI chatbot, which uses OpenAI’s ChatGPT model to plan trips, meals and gifts.
