TITANFALL 2 Confirmed And Coming To Playstation 4!

Mar 15, 2015

Titanfall was always going to be an Xbox exclusive and it’s no different than what Playstation has done with Uncharted or Killzone titles, keeping them for themselves which is an expensive proposition since you’re cutting-off a huge market from buying your game.

However, according to Titanfall‘s creator Vince Zampella revealed to IGN that won’t be the case with it’s sequel Titanfall 2, as the game will be developed for a multiple platform release expanding to Playstation. This also the first time Respawn Entertainment has confirmed a sequel is happening.

I guess EA announced a sequel, so I could play coy and pretend I don’t know anything about it, or… yeah. So we’re working on a sequel. No official name yet, but we’re working on that. That’s the main focus but we’re starting up a second team and doing some smaller stuff too. Small, exploratory, taking it slow! It’ll be multiplatform.

We put some single-player elements in there though, and tried to mix it up. Maybe we could have mixed things up a bit better because some people blew right by it and didn’t even see it because there was so much action happening around it. It’s tough, because if you hit people over the head with it it becomes intrusive, and there are people who don’t want or care about it. Where does the needle fall? I think it takes a while to figure that out and we haven’t figured it out yet.

As a Playstation owner I haven’t had a chance to play the game but it looked wild enough I almost considered buying an XBox One, a few things stopped this purchase and I’ve been just sticking with my Playstation, the game seemed really fun though. Now it seems I’ll be able to get my hands on it with the second game, along with many others who who don’t own an XBox.

While I haven’t played it myself, I did watch a bunch of reviews on the game and the constant thing that was problematic was it’s campaign which lacked a real sense of plot or storytelling. It’s a trend with developers, focusing on cool mechanics and design work rather than it’s story, I assume to get into stores as fast as possible without having to spend extra time on getting the story.

Let’s hope the developers spend the extra time to get the story engrossing since they have the mechanics down. I’m curious as hell and will be keeping an eye on the sequel’s development.

Are you excited that Titanfall 2 has been confirmed?
