Tom Hardy Says ‘Mad Max’ Sequels Still Happening Just Waiting For The Call

Jan 10, 2017

We’re all excited to know any details concerning George Miller‘s sequels for Mad Max: Fury Road and we got a brief update from Mad himself Tom Hardy who spoke about the current status of them.

It remains to be seen when the Mad Max sequels will shoot but according to Tom Hardy, they’re still happening as he told TheWrap he’s just waiting for the call.

“Yeah I believe so!” the actor told TheWrap when asked about whether they would be happening. “I don’t know when that starts, but I believe that’s in the books. There’s a couple of those floating around. I’m waiting for the call to come.”

“It was so good, man,” Hardy reminisced.

We recently discovered that Hardy will be shooting Josh Trank’s Fonzo next in May. The film will be gangster film on the rise to power of notorious Chicago gangster Al Capone.

George Miller is still keen on exploring that world as he clarified misquotes back in January 2016.

“She completely got the wrong fragments of information that were just not true. I said no, [another ‘Mad Max’ movie] will not be next, and she took that to mean I never wanted to make another ‘Mad Max.’ It won’t necessarily be next, but I have two more stories.”

There had been a rumor from The Herald Sun that they were looking to shoot the next film at Broken Hill Studio in New South Wales, Australia. The Broken Hill Studio facility was original location scouted for Mad Max: Fury Road until it rained and ruined the landscape.

This is the same area used for Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior which was shot in 1981.

The next film’s production is unlikely to happen anytime soon as it was revealed that the Fury Road stunt team will be working on James Wan’s Aquaman on The Gold Coast.
