#26: Joker

First Appearance: Batman: The Caped Crusader

Most Notable Appearance: Batman: Arkham Asylum

The Joker is an unpredictable madman who enjoys creating mayhem in Gotham City. Throughout the course of his ongoing battle with Batman, he has killed, kidnapped, stolen, and performed other various criminal acts.  His disregard for the law is apparent as he lures his number one enemy out of the Batcave time and time again. In Batman: The Caped Crusader, The Clown Prince of Crime kidnaps Robin forcing The Caped Crusader to rescue his sidekick in the Holy Nick of Time.

Neverwinter Nights Enhanced Edition (Switch) Review

Joker has appeared in numerous video games throughout the past 25 plus years, but I believe his most notable appearance was in Batman: Arkham Asylum. In this game, Joker takes control of the island prison by allowing himself to be captured by Batman.  With the help from his henchmen and Harley Quinn, Joker escapes and unleashes havoc by placing bombs in various locations around the island and forcing Batman to escape the asylum on his own to once again save the city of Gotham.  The player could also play as Joker in this game, but I refrained from doing that because I just don’t see the appeal to playing as the villain in certain games.  I’ve loved taking down the Joker in every Batman video game I’ve played. His heinous acts of aggression make taking him down as Batman extremely satisfying.

I also play Injustice: Gods Among Us from time to time when I need to just fight Joker without experiencing a story at the same time. That is also satisfying. I look forward to playing the Batman games I own but have yet to play. Its tough to pass up an opportunity to be Batman and battle Joker. This is one fight that will never get old.
