Les than a week after the new character footage appeared, Disney-Pixar has released another trailer. This one follows McQueen’s horrific crash and shows what happens afterwards, further proving he doesn’t die from the accident. The initial trailer only showing the crash was criticized for making children either cry or become very confused. It appears Cars 3 will take a similar plot approach to the first film. McQueen, having been humbled, will arrive in Radiator Springs to reassess his life before having someone show him how he could race better. The shot of a track resembling “Mad Max” more than NASCAR is a mystery and aside from Mack, none of the classic characters including Mater appear. Still, will McQueen actually be returning to win one more race before retiring on his own terms?
“Cars 3” comes to the United Kingdom on July 14, 2017.
