Trailer: Final Trailer for ‘Beauty and the Beast’

Feb 12, 2017

Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” is a live-action re-telling of the studio’s animated classic which refashions the classic characters from the tale as old as time for a contemporary audience, staying true to the original music while updating the score with several new songs. “Beauty and the Beast” is the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realize the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within.

This third and final trailer revealed more of the character’s personalities and humor. Belle (Emma Watson) appears to have more hobbies than just reading books before going to look for her father and has a brand new dress not seen in the original film. Gaston (Luke Evans) shows off more of his singing with aide-de-camp, Lefou (Josh Gad). Dan Stevens is surrounded by mystical forces beyond his control, strange voices and plenty of dated furniture, both here as the Beast and on FX’s Legion. It may seem as though the trailer for “Beauty and the Beast” covers the entire film but this isn’t a problem since it’s assumed everyone’s seen the original 1991 Oscar nominated film.

“Beauty and the Beast” opens March 17, 2017 in the United States.

The final poster capitalizes on the celebrities playing the enchanted objects even though most of the film will have them enchanted and as recognizable as Andy Serkis playing Gollum.
