TRAILER: Looks Like ’10 Cloverfield Lane’ Is A Sequel To ‘Cloverfield’; Coming This March

Jan 15, 2016

A mysterious trailer has been attached to screenings of Michael Bay’s 13 Hours, the film titled 10 Cloverfield Lane seems to be a sequel of sorts to Matt Reeves’ monster film Cloverfield. The film stars John Goodman (Argo, King Kong: Skull Island), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Death Proof, The Thing, Die Hard 4), and John Gallagher Jr. (The Newsroom), it’s the first time hearing that this project was even happening and Bad Robot did an excellent job keeping it under the radar. Even more so, it’s release date is in two months from now.

Waking up from a car accident, a young woman finds herself in the basement of a man who says he’s saved her life from a chemical attack that has left the outside uninhabitable.

It’s hard to ignore the title clearly using the name Cloverfield, and that there is a some very similar visual shots lifted from the original film. I’m sure more fan theories will connect the film, but from our standpoint it looks like a sequel to us. We won’t have to wait too long for it as it’s release date is set for March 11th, 2016. Having the film remove the p.o.v. camera aspect is also a nice change from the original.
