It’s official! Ubisoft has announced via a press release that Oscar nominated actress Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty) will indeed co-star with Jake Gyllenhaal in an adaptation of their outbreak video game The Division, as picked-up by The Wrap.
“We are excited to collaborate with Jessica and Jake, two of Hollywood’s most talented actors and perfect creative collaborators to help bring Tom Clancy‘s The Division to the big screen,” said Gerard Guillemot, Ubisoft Motion Pictures CEO, in a statement.
“Attaching Jake and Jessica is part of our development philosophy of working closely with top talent from the earliest stages to collaborate on a high quality film,” added Matt Phelps, Vice President, Ubisoft Motion Pictures.
Chastain had been linked by the trades and is now officially starring in the film.
However, the package deal doesn’t seem to include a script or a director.
Other Ubisoft movies include Fox’s Assassin’s Creed starring Michael Fassbender, Paramount’s Splint Cell starring Tom Hardy, Sony’s Watch Dogs and Warner Bros’ Ghost Recon with Michael Bay attached to direct.
