Variety reports that Jude Law is now in talks for the male lead role in Captain Marvel, said to be a mentor to Carol Danvers. Adding that Keanu Reeves almost landed the part.
They don’t mention if he’ll be human or Kree (Mar-Vell?)
UPDATE: They’ve updated their report mentioning that Law would play Dr. Walter Lawson aka Mar-Vell, a Kree solider/scout tasked to keep an eye on Earth.
Ben Mendelsohn has been locked in as the main villain said to be a Skrull leader.
Law is currently filming Fantastic Beasts 2 for Warner Bros.
Production is expected to begin sometime this February in Los Angeles. It’s release date has been set for March 8th, 2019.
