UPDATE: Plot and Villain Details For ‘Bad Boys For Life’ Reaffirmed – Eyeing August Start

Jun 1, 2018

The other day we revealed crew hires for Sony’s Bad Boys For Life, the third film in the Bad Boys franchise starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence.

French directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah would be adding production designer Stijn Verhoeven and cinematographer Benoit Debie (Spring Breakers, Enter The Void) as the film is currently in pre-production.

UPDATE: Well, today Omega Underground has confirmed/reaffirmed plot details for the film and some details on the villain with another source which had been first posted by our friends at ThatHashtagShow.

In the new film, we will see Marcus Burnett (Lawrence) has left the police department and working as a private investigator after a falling out with Mike Lowery (Smith).

Lowery is going through a mid-life crisis himself dealing with a cocky but loyal young partner. Setting up a new supporting role in the film.

The villain, an Albanian mercenary, puts out a hit on the two former partners as payback for the death of his brother which forces Marcus and Mike to reunite and take him down.

We previously revealed the third installment would be filming in Atlanta and Miami, that still is the plan and it is indeed eyeing a production start this August.

When we get full production dates we will update.

Will Smith is set to wrap filming on Ang Lee’s Gemini Man (spent time filming in Georgia) on July 21st which makes sense with production on Suicide Squad 2 getting delayed that Bad Boys For Life is likely next for him.

Sony has set the release date for Bad Boys For Life on January 17th, 2020.
