UPDATE: Sony’s ‘Silver and Black’ Production Expected To Be Delayed Until 2019

Jun 22, 2018

On the heels of new spin-off news, Omega Underground has learned that Sony’s Spider-Man spin-off Silver and Black is getting a larger delay than previously expected as it undergoes script rewrites.

We hear that filming is unlikely to begin until next year.

It would focus on characters Black Cat (a cat burglar/part time hero) and mercenary Silver Sable.

The stable of writers involved on the project keeps growing with Westworld’s Lisa Joy, Thor: Ragnarok’s Christopher Yost, Guardians of The Galaxy/Captain Marvel’s Nicole Perlman, director Gina Prince-Bythewood, and more recently Tomb Raider/Captain Marvel’s Geneva Robertson-Dworet.

Major plot details and character cameos leaked in early development which was likely behind some of these rewrites and along with now being released after the events of the Spider-Man sequel. We recently revealed the sequel would be wrapping up in December, that could also explain Silver and Black’s delays.

The film recently dropped it’s February 2019 release date and is currently without a new one.
