UPDATE: ‘Spawn’s Toronto Shoot Delayed Until The Fall – Adds Production Designer

Jul 19, 2018

Omega Underground recently revealed that Blumhouse Pictures was looking to film their Spawn remake in Toronto this summer.

Well, there seems to be a bit of a hiccup and the filming start is said be pushed until sometime in October.

Spawn creator Todd McFarlane is set to direct Jeremy Renner as Twitch and Jamie Foxx as Al Simmons.

Al Simmons a government assassin is killed on a mission and is given one last chance to see his beloved Wanda, if he becomes the Hellspawn, a general in Hell’s army. He instead uses his violent talents to protect a group of homeless he has befriended along with his best friend Terry who has since married Wanda after his death.

The film is said to be from the perspective of Renner’s Twitch and be more horror in tone than previous adaptations of the material.

We previously mentioned The Walking Dead’s Greg Nicotero would be handling special effects makeup and they’ve also added Crazy Heart production designer Waldemar Kalinowski to the crew.

Blumhouse has yet to give Spawn a release date.
