‘Venom’ Audition Tape Might Confirm Anne Weying and R-Rating

Jul 15, 2017

A couple of hours ago we revealed Sony’s Venom movie starring Tom Hardy and directed by Ruben Fleischer would be shooting under the working title of Antidote.

Omega Underground has now uncovered an audition tape for Venom labelled “Antidote” with newcomer Casey Jayne reading for a role.

In her emotionally dark audition, there is a lot of cussing and her character is referred to “Annie“. This could confirm two things we’ve been hearing about the film. The second scene has her referring to characters off-screen as “hunting her down and trying to kill her”. However, it’s unlikely auditions would be using actual dialog from the script.

You can watch that tape right here.

First, the extensive cussing might confirm a rumbling from Collider that Venom is looking towards an R-rating. The other thing is that Casey’s character is called Annie, possibly confirming the casting call via ThatHashtagShow that Sony was looking to include Eddie Brock’s (Hardy) ex-wife Anne Weying aka She-Venom in the film.

Venom will begin filming on September 1st in Atlanta/NYC and it’s release date is October 5th, 2018.
