Even though he had a short, memorable arc in season 2 of the Marvel series on Netflix, Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk aka The Kingpin has been relatively absent from the events in Hell’s Kitchen.
According to Deadline, Daredevil Season 3 showrunner Erik Oleson will be bringing back Vincent D’Onofrio to return to the role of Fisk in the upcoming season. According to Marvel TV Chief Jeph Loeb; “Vincent is an exceptional actor who returns with the incredible gravitas he brings to Fisk. We’re very excited how Marvel’s Daredevil develops through the creative lens and guidance of our new showrunner, Erik Oleson.”
Oleson is no stranger to genre television having come from The Man in the High Castle as writer and Executive Producer as well as spending multiple seasons as co-EP of Arrow on the CW. Viewers of The Defenders limited series on Netflix are aware of what happened to Daredevil at the end of the series so it will be interesting to see how they bring the hero back to Hell’s Kitchen and in what way he will clash with his old nemesis.
