Even before the original film hit’s the big screen on August 5th 2016, execs. at WB are already giving the go ahead for a Suicide Squad sequel.  Word is the film most likely won’t hit theater until 2018 or 2019. Pretty interesting that WB/DC is so confident in this property, perhaps even more so that it is in Batman Vs. Superman Dawn of Justice out March 25th. This quick go ahead comes a few weeks after a rumor that DC may scrap the Justice League film’s for a Ben Affleck Batman trilogy, two days later WB green lit Justice League officially.  It seems the studio has a little more confidence in the Suicide Squad property, which is crazy to think about considering before the first trailers only hardcore DC readers and viewers of Arrow really knew the suicidal team.  It seems film’s like Guardians of the Galaxy, Deadpool, and Suicide Squad are the new trend in superhero films, serving as a refreshing palette cleanser from the more well known properties.
