Watch the Netflix Marvel trailers that debuted during SDCC

Jul 25, 2016

Great news, Marvel fans! Marvel has brought us teasers for Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and a The Defenders. Yes, The Defenders is actually happening, guys!

The Luke Cage teaser shows the man with unbreakable skin take on a slew of baddies with guns while Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s “Shimmy Shimmy Ya”. The soundtrack alone is going to be fantastic, the first trailer featured Nas’s “Made You Look”. It’s clear that this show has a heavy hip-hop influence that according to showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker, every episode is named after a Gang Starr song. The trailer shows Cage taking on a bunch of shooters in similar fashion to Daredevil’s hallway scene. I would image that every season of every Netflix Marvel show from now on is trying to one up the previous one-shot fight scene. Luke Cage hits Netflix September 30th.

The very first look at Iron First debuted during SDCC and starts with a younger Danny Rand who appears to have survived a plane crash. We then fast forward to an adult bare-footed version roaming the streets of NY and taking out a brick wall.

Finally, we got a brief glimpse of what’s to come in the upcoming Defenders series which will unite Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. The teaser ends with Stick’s voice (played by Scott Glenn) saying, “You think the four of you can save New York? You can’t even save yourselves.” Not much else is known about the upcoming mini-series besides the fact that now we know Stick will make an appearance.
