Red Hood and the Outlaws: Rebirth #1
DC Comics

Written by: Scott Lobdell
Art by: Dexter Soy

The story of Red Hood is a rebel’s call and Scott Lobdell gets it right. A short origin story is included of who the Red Hood is to catch up new readers and also give a refresher to long time fans. Reading Red Hood for the first time instantly made him one of my favorite DC characters. The art style really brings out the serious and tough tone of the Red Hood and the Outlaws: Rebirth #1. Dexter Soy does a great job of keeping flashbacks dark except for the Red Hood himself. Its a visually impressive way to bring out the inner tension the Red Hood is often dealing with.

The story is action packed and Scott Lobdell has me hooked on this new teams tale. The story goes deep into the issues Jason Todd, also known as the Red Hood, deals with. Jason Todd, like in other Red Hood comics, wants to do good, but not follow in the steps of Batman because he feels coming from a lower income background separates him too much to be close with Batman. He is the only partner Batman had that comes from a background in crime and he also is a bit more rebellious than the other Robins. Red Hood doesn’t always play by the rules and has a knack for surprising readers because he fights so close to the line of good and evil.

If you are looking for a good Summer read or want to learn who the Red Hood is and what he has become, then Red Hood and the Outlaws: Rebirth #1 is a must read DC Comic.

I am a writer, video gamer, and a tennis player, but mostly a writer. I first got into writing in high school when I would write letters to the editor in my local newspaper and also in high school I joined the poetry club. Through the years, I've had many interests, but my love for writing has stayed strong. Writing and reading comics are my passion. My favorite comic book right now is Vision. There are so many I enjoy. Power Rangers, Letter 44, Saga, Daredevil, etc. I am proud to be apart of this team at GWW and it is such a great opportunity to grow my writing my career.
