Today, it has been announced by Variety that Will Smith will not return in James Gunn’s Suicide Squad sequel as Deadshot. While sources state the reason for his departure is due to scheduling. The studio wanted Smith and Margot Robbie to return and shoehorn the upcoming sequel. It’s unknown if the character will be recast or simply written out of the screenplay at this point in time.
