‘Wolverine’ Actress Rila Fukushima Joins ‘Ghost In The Shell’s Diverse Cast

Rila Fukushima really seems to enjoy taking-on genre roles, after making her western debut in The Wolverine she has since landed television roles on shows like Arrow and Game of Thrones. It looks like she’s moving back into feature films with a role DreamWorks’ Ghost In The Shell movie starring Scarlett Johansson according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film’s production has been underway for some time in New Zealand, which is doubling for Japan.

Rila Fukushima joins the rest of the cast that includes other actors such as Michael Pitt (Boardwalk Empire), Takeshi Kitano (Outrage), Pilou Asbæk (Game of Thrones, Lucy), Michael Wincott (The Crow), Christopher Obi, Chin Han (The Dark Knight), Yutaka Izumihara (The Wolverine, Unbroken), Juliette Binoche (Godzilla), Kaori Momoi, Peter Ferdinando (High-Rise, A Field In England, Hyena), Danusia Samal, Lasarus Ratuere and Tawanda Manyimo (Slow West, The Rover).

Ghost In The Shell is set for it’s theatrical release on March 31st, 2017.
