Back in July, ScreenRant’s Andrew Dyce dropped a rumor that suggested Paty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman 2 would be set during the Cold-War of the 1980s. Omega Underground helped back this up in October with our own reporting via a production listing reiterating the Cold-War aspect and a potential June production start.
In the synopsis, it revealed the Soviet Union would be the antagonists.
It’s been over a month since last we heard about the Cold-War aspect. Then, buried in TheWrap‘s recent article on WB’s handling of Justice League (which doesn’t paint the studio is the greatest light) there is a brief mention of Wonder Woman’s Cold-War setting.
It sounds like confirmation to us, but we’ll likely know more in the coming months leading up to production.
Wonder Woman 2 has been given the update release date of November 1st, 2019.
