Woody Harrelson In Early Talks To Play Mentor In ‘Han Solo’

Jan 3, 2017

Woody Harrelson (Natural Born Killers, Triple 9, Edge of Seventeen, True Detective) has spent most his recent years doing mostly character driven roles but took on the larger role of the main villain in Matt Reeves’ War For The Planet of The Apes.

It looks like Woody isn’t done with iconic science fiction film franchise roles.

Variety reports Woody is in early talks with Lucasfilm to take the role of Han Solo’s mentor in the film starring Alden Ehrenreich, Emilia Clarke, and Donald Glover.

We’ve pointed out recently the studio is underway casting supporting roles and Harrelson joining the project sounds like yet another excellent seasoned actor that could elevate the material.

Han Solo’s production is confirmed to begin this February with a release date set for May 25th, 2018 (current rumors say otherwise).
