‘X-Force’s Fall Filming Start In Vancouver Seemingly Confirmed

Feb 27, 2018

Last week, a ProductionWeekly listing was making the rounds that revealed Fox was eyeing an October production start for X-Force in Vancouver, which was previously reported to be written and directed by Drew Goddard (Cabin In The Woods).

This was far from surprising to us.

X-Force’s fall production start in Vancouver was something we suggested back in June and more recently in December.

However, Goddard is currently filming the 20th Century Fox action flick The Bad Times At The El Royale (starring Chris Hemsworth and Jeff Bridges) until April and with the release date set for October 5th, would have a smaller than usual window to complete post-production and editing on the film. This led us to believe that either Drew might not end up directing the film or the start could actually get pushed to the winter or 2019.

Well, HollywoodReporter is seemingly confirming that Fox wants things to begin on X-Force in October.

X-Force, a Deadpool spinoff from Drew Goddard, is set to begin shooting in October, with Reynolds and Josh Brolin expected to star.

Until everything is confirmed with production dates and Drew Goddard is again reaffirmed as director, it’s hard for me to be terribly convinced Goddard is able to focus on the extensive X-Force prep while rushing to get El Royale completed on time. But that’s just an educated opinion at the moment.

X-Force is currently without release or production dates.
