‘X-Men: Apocalypse’s Lana Condor Joins ‘Alita: Battle Angel’

Oct 11, 2016

Deadline reports that Fox has cast Lana Condor in a role in the manga/anime adaptation Alita: Battle Angel, directed by Robert Rodriguez.

The futuristic pic tells the story of Alita (Salazar), an amnesiac female cyborg who is rescued from a scrapyard by a doctor (Waltz). The rebuilt Alita, remembering only her training in a deadly martial art, becomes a hunter-warrior, tracking down and eliminating vicious criminals.

If I have to guess, she is most likely is playing another cyborg.

Lana might be best known for her small role as the mutant mallrat Jubilee in X-Men: Apocalypse. Fans were a little surprised her role in Apocalypse was minimized and hope to see her part in Alita much larger.

Production begins this month in Austin with a release date set for July 10th, 2018.
