May 25, 2017

X-Men: The New Mutants writer-director Josh Boone has finally spoken to Entertainment Weekly about the film in some great detail. In the report, they’ve revealed that actor Henry Zaga (13 Reasons Why) will be soon announced as Sunspot.

While Sin City and Daredevil’s Rosario Dawson is in talks for Dr. Cecilia Reyes.

The pair would potentially be joining Maisie Williams and Anya Taylor-Joy.

They also have a potential synopsis to go along with the confirmed villain Demon Bear.

“Held in a secret facility against their will, five new mutants have to battle the dangers of their powers, as well as the sins of their past. They aren’t out to save the world — they’re just trying to save themselves.”

Although, production sources (June) and Boone (April-May) himself have suggested an earlier shoot. A recent casting call and now Entertainment Weekly are stating a July production start, it remains to be official.

New Mutants is set for release on April 13th, 2018.
