Aloha (Hawaii Five-0 is playing in the background), it’s been a hot minute since I wrote an article. Ten days to be exact, I’ve been on vacation and during that time I managed to catch a viewing of David Ayer’s Suicide Squad.
Let’s get the elephant in the room out-of-the-way first, despite what critics said I enjoyed Warner Bros new installment in the DC Extended Universe. Now it’s not perfect (no film is) but the good out weights the bad in my eyes.
With the movie now playing in cinema’s across the world—not China though. Some new tidbits of information about the production of Suicide Squad have started to be released, and one of the most interesting tidbits is that Man of Steel, Batman V Superman and the upcoming Justice League director Zack Snyder who served as executive producer on Suicide Squad, also had a hand in directing.
In the film, Ezra Miller makes a quick cameo as The Flash during Captain Boomerang’s flashback scene (no pun intended). The scarlet speedster stops the Aussie baddie during a bank robbery.
Speaking with Collider, Suicide Squad director David Ayer revealed The Flash was always meant to make an appearance in his villain team up movie, whilst confirming Zack Snyder had a hand in filming the cameo whilst Suicide Squad was in post-production.
“Flash was always in the movie, we just got lucky because Justice League was happening and they had the uniform, they had the assets, so we were able to get that photography.”
This is pretty cool, and one of the nice surprises from the film. It makes you excited to see more of Miller’s version of the speedster in the DCEU.
Suicide Squad is out now in cinemas.
