Today, Collider revealed that director Zack Snyder is looking to adapt Watchmen for TV on HBO. As many know Zack Snyder was the man behind the 2009 feature film adaption of the Watchmen comic by Alan Moore. While the film didn’t make much money at the box office it is still considered one of the most faithful adaptions of a comic in the modern era.
Now while the site does claim Snyder and HBO has met they have not green lit anything. But with HBO’s massive hit Game of Thrones coming to an end in the next few years it’s entirely possible they may be looking for the next big thing. Enter Before Watchmen…
Before Watchmen was a 2012 prequel comic book series that were one-shots on the characters from the original Watchmen comic. It;’s entirely possible Snyder may use this as inspiration on his watchmen series which would be a prequel mini-series to his 2009 Watchmen film. Of course that is simply speculation…
