Amazon Prime Members Now Get 20% Off New Games and Preorders

Jan 12, 2016

Game Changer?

Amazon.com has rolled out a new perk for its Amazon Prime members. All purchases of new games or preorders of games will receive a 20% discount.

What counts as a new game? Basically, any game that hasn’t been “on shelves” for more than two weeks. This discount is limited to physical games and is only valid when the game is being shipped and sold by Amazon. Besides that, it’s really a simple process. Once you select the game you want to purchase, the discount will be automatically added at checkout.

Amazon Prime’s game discount also stands alongside some other offers for members, which include free two-day shipping for eligible purchases, unlimited streaming of movies and TV shows with Prime Instant Video, and the ability to borrow books from the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library for $99 a year.

This news comes after the very solid and record-shattering holiday season for Amazon, in which it had its highest sales in its twenty-one-year history and added over three million Amazon Prime members.
