Bethesda’s E3 Presents

Jun 12, 2017

Bethesda’s announcements leave me in awe and excitement. Each piece of information dropped this evening left me wanting more and more. Given the amount of material they showed off, let’s dig in:

Doom VFR

Wow. Just wow. What a way to open! Doom looks to be another thrill ride for fans of the franchise or for fans of the FPS genre. It looks like there’s a brand new story to tell.

Fallout VR

Having spent quite a few hours in Fallout 4, I can tell you that we are definitely seeing quite a few things that Fallout 4 features, but with new and exciting ways of moving through the familiar world. Maybe virtual reality will be as big as the 80’s told us it would be. I can’t wait to get my hands on this.

Elder Scrolls Online-Return to Morrowind

Although it’s launch was five days ago, Bethesda is pushing Elder Scrolls Online as the game to play for that return to it’s famed realm. More review of what’s out than anything else, I’m fine with more of Elder Scrolls Online.

Creation Club-Skyrim and Fallout 4

So, they created a mod game for those that can’t get mods or don’t have access to all the good ones-you know, like the one that turns power suits into Buzz Lightyear? Not sure, but they’re promoting it as having new content, including missions, armor, weapons. It’s also supposed to available for the Big 3 and will be adapted to your regular saves for those games, respectively. I’m in, unless the credits they speak of cost me real life monies….then, I might be mostly in.

Elder Scrolls: Legends-Heroes of Skyrim

With the success of Gwent, I suppose it was only a matter of time before we saw something similar from other developers. I’m not disinterested….I just don’t care that much about these types of card games. Even still, I am always willing to give things that are Elder Scrolls related a little try.  The truly unfortunate part of the trailer is the lack of gameplay and/or discussion about the actual game. I am all for teaser trailers, but give us something….

Skyrim-Switch

We knew this day would come as the rumor mill has continued to throw this title around as the expectation for the Switch. Glad to see that Nintendo is getting some love in this department. It’s about time. Also, I can’t wait to have Skyrim on the go.

Dishonored: Death of the Outsider

Billie Lurk, of Dishonored 2 gets her own standalone as it looks her and Daud try to take out the Outsider. Looking for trouble with stealth has always excited me and this is no exception. Should be out in September.

Quake Champions

Apparently set in Dallas August 26th, the world championships for this fantastic Esports pioneer will wager a one million prize for the player that battles to the top.

BJ Blazkowicz joins the lineup alongside several new maps and weapons.

The Evil Within 2

Now this is intense! Evil Within was a mind-bender, but this sequel to the fan-favorite seeks to set new records of trippiness. The story appears to pick up only a little while after the first and promises some exciting and probably confusing story telling.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus

Blazkowicz is back for another round of games in this new chapter. It seems the US of A needs the Man in the High Castle and Joseph is going to have to suffice. First impressions lead towards a very exciting chapter of Wolfenstein that has the famed protagonist fighting to restore America back to her former un-Nazied glory.

It looks stellar, boasting plenty of the same ridiculous action and dialogue we’ve come to love from the franchise. Plus, there are Blaskowicz twins whose mother goes stab-crazy on a freaking Nazi while her partner has dropped acid allowing him to see a gecko of a different color (catch the Wizard of Oz reference?….it’s funny cause Baum was probably bombing-get it?).

E3 means Excitement

As an added bonus, Bethesda let it be known that everything seen in the trailers tonight will be available to consumers this year. That’s quite a slate of awesome to bring to fans over the coming months and I, for one, will be excited to get to play these.

What did you think of Bethesda’s presentation? Are there any games that you’re excited for? Tell us in the comments below!
