Official “Wonder Woman” Film Footage and Logo Revealed!

Jan 19, 2016

This morning, Warner Bros. unveiled the new Wonder Woman movie logo on its social media accounts.  I found it interesting that the movie logo has been revealed prior to DC’s special set to air tonight, Dawn of the Justice League on CW. Sure enough, Kevin Smith presented never-before-scene footage during the special. Gal Gadot also spoke about playing Diana Prince in this coming-of-age story. Wonder Woman, which is currently in production, is directed by Patty Jenkins and stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui, Elena Anaya, Connie Nielsen, and Lucy Davis. Warner Bros. has also brought forth the official Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook for the upcoming Wonder Woman film.

During the DC special, Geoff Johns shared a few words on what to expect of the upcoming Wonder Woman film.

“Wonder Woman is one of the greatest superheroes out there. But people don’t know her origin like they know Superman’s origin and Batman’s origin; and so what we want to do in the film is really tell people who she is, where she comes from, and why she does what she does. We’ve never seen her on film before.”

“She comes from Greek a mythology. She was born on this island of Amazons called Themyscira. These Amazons were once created to protect man’s world, but they’ve since abandoned it. And Diana’s asking constantly, ‘why don’t we go do what we were created to do and protect man’, and they say, ‘because they’re not worth it’. And this takes her on a journey into our world.”

Wonder Woman arrives in theaters on June 23, 2017.
