(Possible Spoilers) A Huge Villain For Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Revealed!

Jan 20, 2016

We still have well over a year to go before Guardians of the Galaxy 2 hits theaters and we once again to hang with Marvel’s Misfits. But thanks to guys over at Geek.com we may have some details on what crazy character the Guardians will come face to face with in the sequel.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD!!

According to Geek.com who claim to have sources close to the films production a fan favorite character will be invading the Guardians of the Galaxy’s orbit. Ego, the Living Planet is rumored to appear in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and we can assume he will play a villainous role. While many of us here at TheGWW.com speculated that Ego may have been the sentient planet on Agents of Shield, it appears he will make his live action debut in James Gunn’s Guardians sequel.

Ego

This is another massive risk for Marvel and the franchise as Ego is as strange a character as they come and a massive prescience, literally. For those of you who aren’t familiar Ego is exactly what his name suggests, a sentient planet with extreme intelligence and the ability to completely control everything on his surface down to the molecule. In Marvel comics he has down the typical villain fare including trying to take over galaxies and has fought the likes of The Fantastic Four, Thor and the Silver Surfer.

While Ego is definitely and odd character he seems to be the perfect choice and fit for James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy sequel. He is an insane, off the wall villain which perfect matches Gunn’s sensibility and will act as a true audience spectacle. I am not sure what this means for the other villain of the film Thanos, but its going to be hard to compete for screen time against a Living Planet. Only time will tell as we slowly edge closer to the highly anticpated sequel hitting thearters on May 5, 2017.

We Want to hear from you! What do you think of this rumor, and Ego’s inclusion into the MCU. Let us know in the comments below.
