Who doesn’t like a good Horror? Well, I love them so I jumped at the chance to read Boom! Studios new psychological nerve-trembling series, and let me tell you it ain’t for the faint-hearted. Ashli Granger becomes the unsuspecting victim of weird going on’s at the local and seriously creepy Mental Health hospital where she takes a job as a nurse. It isn’t long into her first day at the seriously understaffed and overcrowded hospital does she notice things aren’t quite right and the staff and patients aren’t what they seem to be.

What I really like about this is that gets straight into the nitty gritty, 2 pages into the comic and things start getting eerie and interesting and I like that, no need for a big background history into the main character. The art and colors are pretty simplistic but it works well, no massively vibrant colours if anything there a bit gloomy but that keeps in tune with the story.

I must admit I was itching to get my teeth into this new series, being a big horror fan anyway and reading the synopsis I immediately thought ‘This is right up my street’. Like I said don’t expect to be blown away by the art but that in no way means I didn’t like it, it really fits. Overall I really liked what I was reading and how quickly things developed throughout the issue. Like any true suspense book it leaves the reader on a knives edge wanting more, and I want more.
