Warner Brothers Eyeing Matthew Vaughn to Helm Man of Steel Sequel

Mar 14, 2017

In a sign that Warner Brothers and DC Films are considering a change in the direction of their universe, Collider is reporting that Warner Brothers is in talks with X-Men First Class Director Mathew Vaughn to take the director’s chair for the sequel to the original Man of Steel film directed by Zach Snyder (Justice League).

No stranger to breathing new life into a franchise, Vaughn was brought in to right the ship with the X-Men franchise for Fox and delivered the hit film X-Men: First Class. His irreverent eye has also brought us hit movies like Layer Cake, Kick-Ass and Kingsman: The Secret Service. I have no doubt that he could bring a fresh perspective to Superman without taking the character too dark. A more hopeful take on the character is exactly what the franchise needs.

While there are no firm details on the talks as of yet, Vaughn is considered to be the frontrunner for the director’s chair. Vaughn is currently in post-production on the sequel to the smash hit Kingsman movie Kingsman: The Golden Circle which is set for release October 6, 2017.

Let me know what you think. Who would be your pick to direct the next Superman movie? Leave your message in the comments below.
