There are a lot of free games out there that happen to be some of the best games I’ve played in a while, and I’ve compiled a list of all my favorites that you might not have heard of . For those interested, I will leave the link to the game at the bottom of the mini-review. Lets get to it!
#1: SUPERHOT
SUPERHOT is being made into a full game that you will eventually be able to buy on steam, but for now, there is a prototype online. The main gameplay of SUPERHOT is extremely unique, as it’s a first person shooter where time moves extremely slow if you stay still and moves normally when you move. This simple concept creates an entirely new way to play an FPS game and is way more fun and interesting than any other FPS I have played in a long time. #2: I saw her standing there, but then she was a zombie
I saw her standing there, but then she was a zombie is a love story between a man and a woman, but then she became a zombie, and he still loves her. This game is not necessarily very “different.” Its just an interesting puzzle game with a nice acoustic soundtrack and very clean, simple visuals. There isn’t much more to talk about, but I will say that the game is merely about leading a zombie into a cage and trying to not get bitten. Although that may seem overly simple, the real motivation in this game is wondering what the dialogue will say next. Altogether, this is just a fun game that I am sure almot everyone will enjoy. #3: SUPER HOTline miami
Did you enjoy trying SUPERHOT? Have you checked out Hotline Miami? If yes is the answer to any of those, you will probably LOVE this game. It’s like SUPERHOT turned into a top down shooter, that received a generous donation of guns. If you liked anything about SUPERHOT or Hotline Miami, you are in for a treat. The graphical style is simple like SUPERHOT, and the top down combat is amazing like in Hotline Miami. This game has a good soundtrack to go with it, and the SUPERHOT style mechanics work flawlessly with the gameplay. I can guarantee that about 99% of the people who play this will like it. #4: Cubic (Also on Android and IOS!)
This is a bit different of a game. It’s like playing with a rubix cube, but instead of being frustrating, it’s a mind-blowingly simple game that you don’t even need instructions for to figure out how to play. It is simply about connecting the colors in paths that don’t obstruct each-other. Cubic has no soundtrack or anything, just nice calming ding noises when you get the right answer to a problem. This game is so fun and simple that it would be an absolutely perfect time-killer for any occasion. I became quickly addicted and can’t stop playing, If you want to try it, here it is!
