Ben Affleck Clears Up Rumours By Confirming He’s Directing ‘The Batman’ Standalone

Jan 11, 2017

There’s been a lot of talk about Ben Affleck’s solo “Batman” film, with recent rumours claiming the Oscar-winning filmmaker may back out of directing the Dark Knights first solo outing in the DC Extended Universe.

But Affleck has put minds at rest during his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel to promote his classy new gangster flick “Live By Night” by confirming he would indeed direct “The Batman”, after host Kimmel brought up the subject.

“I’m going to direct the next Batman. We’re working on it. It’s one of those things that’s really frustrating because Live By Night took me a year and a half to write it, and get it ready, and I worked really hard. And nobody gave a shit! No one was like ‘where’s Live By Night?’ But with Batman I keep getting ‘where’s the f*cking Batman?!’. I’m like bro, I’m working! Give me a second.”

Even if we need to wait longer for “The Batman” I’m fine with that, but I’m sure there’s going to more twist and turns before the camera starts rolling.
