RUMOR: ‘Morbius’ Expected To Include Fellow Marvel Vampire Martine Bancroft As The Female Lead

Aug 9, 2018

Not too long ago it was revealed that Jared Leto would be starring in Sony Pictures’ Morbius movie focusing on Spider-Man villain/vampire Michael Morbius aka The Living Vampire. The film is set to be directed by Safe House’s Daniel Espinosa and production is said to begin sometime in November, but locations and dates have yet to be disclosed.

Michael is called the living vampire because unlike normal movie vampires, who are undead, Morbius accidentally turns himself into a vampire during a lab experiment and remains alive.

We can confirm that pre-production on the film is well underway as the rest of the casting process has begun.

ThatHashtagShow had previously posted some possible character breakdowns and they had suggested the female lead role could go to Michael’s love/fiancee Martine Bancroft, and they now suggest that has been affirmed with new information.

Bancroft would be turned into a vampire by Morbius and becomes a villain herself in the comics.

Sony has yet to give Morbius an official release date, but there is an assumption it could be ready by fall of next year.
