Chris McKay (‘The Lego Batman Movie’) is adding another movie to his slate: ‘Reborn.’
The Millarworld comic book adaptation will be from Netflix, Sandra Bullock and ‘It’ producer Vertigo Entertainment.
Below is the premise of the sci-fi fantasy comic series by Mark Millar and Greg Capullo:
“The story of an eighty year-old woman, Bonnie Black, who dies in a Manhattan hospital only to find herself reborn in the prime of life in the afterlife world of Adystria. Now, she is in a magical land of monsters and dragons where good and evil are waging an eternal war. There, she finds old friends and loved ones waiting, except the husband who died before her. Armed with a sword and partnered with her late father, she sets off through the battle-torn landscape on a quest to find out where he is.”
Moreover, Bullock could potentially lead cast in the movie, which is currently in development according to Deadline. Bullock will produce along with Roy Lee and Miri Yoon for Vertigo Entertainment.
Netflix and Bullock recently teamed up for the streamer’s hit ‘Bird Box.’ McKay is currently attached to direct ‘Dungeons & Dragons,’ ‘Jonny Quest,’ and the long-gestating ‘Nightwing.’ It is unclear if ‘Dungeons & Dragons’ will go into production before ‘Reborn,’ but the former has a July 23, 2021 release date.
‘Reborn’ currently does not have a release date.
