Exclusive: Josh Duhamel and Elena Kampouris are in talks to lead the cast of Netflix’s upcoming comic book adaptation ‘Jupiter’s Legacy’.
The comic book follows multiple generations of superheroes and their differing views on what it means to be a hero.
Duhamel would play Sheldon Sampson, AKA The Utopian. In the comics, Sampson is a first generation superhero who started out as an American patriot turned, Superman-like figure trying to bring America back to its former glory. Duhamel’s reps had no comment when we inquired about the potential role. We also learned Pablo Schreiber and Eric Bana previously passed on the role.
Kampouris would play The Utopian’s daughter, Chloe Sampson. Chloe is a second generation superhero that inherited powers from both of her parents. Unlike her parents, Chloe is more interested in partying and having fun rather than being a costumed crime-fighter.
Other roles still being cast include Lady Liberty and Brainwave. Carrie Coon, Morena Baccarin, and Lizzy Caplan turned down Lady Liberty and James Badge Dale passed on Brainwave but hopefully, we hear more on those roles soon..
‘Jupiter’s Legacy’ hails from Steven DeKnight and Mark Millar. It will be the first live-action entry in Netflix’s Millarworld adaptations. No release date has been set.
