The latest listing from Film Magazine Production Weekly, via Pursue News, has revealed the shooting dates for Mattel and Sony’s ‘Masters of the Universe’ reboot.
Principal photography will begin on July 15 and wrap on October 18. Prague is one of the shooting locations.
The film is based on Mattel’s toy-line that spawned an animated TV series (1983-85) as well as a 1987 film. The property centers on the warrior He-Man, the last hope of a magical land called Eternia. Dolph Lundgren starred in the original film as the title character.
Moreover, brothers Adam & Aaron Nee (‘Band of Robbers’) are directing. The newest draft of the screenplay is from Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (‘Iron Man,’ ‘Men in Black: International’).
The previous draft of the screenplay was written by David S. Goyer. He was originally in talks to direct, but later declined from the position. But, he still remains an executive producer on the film.
‘Masters of the Universe’ is currently set for release by Sony Pictures on December 18, 2019. However, this date is very likely to change.
