After a post on Twitter and Instagram from John Krasinski, Deadline was able to confirm that he will be returning to direct ‘A Quiet Place 2.’
…time to go back.

But, that’s not all! Krasinski is not the only one returning, as the sequel will have his wife (both on-screen and in real life) Emily Blunt reprising her role from the first movie. The capacity of Blunt’s role is unknown, as it could be anything from leading, supporting, to a cameo appearance.
At first, Krasinski did not even intend to write the screenplay for ‘A Quiet Place 2.’ But, he then went on to develop his story concept for the sequel, after mulling it over. Producers Andrew Form and Brad Fuller could have given the film to other filmmakers to write and/or direct, but Krasinski got a spark of inspiration.
Now with his screenplay being written, Krasinski will also direct the (untitled) sequel, just like the first time around. Bryan Woods and Scott Peck, the screenwriters of the original spec script for the first ‘A Quiet Place,’ also came back to write the sequel with Krasinski.
It is possible, due to Krasinski’s tease, that the sequel could have the title of ‘A Quiet Place: Part II.’ But as of now, we do not know.
However, what we do know, is that filming will commence this July. Paramount will release the film on May 15, 2020.
