Spike Lee’s ‘Da 5 Bloods’ now has the rest of its cast, and a few other actors confirmed. Also, Netflix will indeed be distributing the film.
Below is the stacked cast of the film:
- Chadwick Boseman (‘Marshall,’ ‘Black Panther’)
- Giancarlo Esposito (‘Okja,’ ‘Better Call Saul’)
- Paul Walter Hauser (‘I, Tonya,’ ‘BlacKkKlansman’)
- Norm Lewis (‘Winter’s Tale,’ ‘Scandal’)
- Delroy Lindo (‘Malcolm X,’ ‘The Good Fight’)
- Jonathan Majors (‘Hostiles,’ ‘White Boy Rick’)
- Jasper Pääkkönen (‘Vikings,’ ‘BlacKkKlansman’)
- Clarke Peters (‘The Wire,’ ‘Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri’)
- Jean Reno (‘Léon: The Professional,’ The Da Vinci Code’)
- Mélanie Thierry (‘Babylon A.D.,’ ‘The Zero Theorem’)
- Isiah Whitlock Jr. (‘The Wire,’ ‘BlacKkKlansman’)
So, that marks two alums from HBO’s ‘The Wire,’ and three actors from Lee’s previous film, the Academy Award winning ‘BlacKkKlansman.’
Moreover, the premise is below:
“Four African-American veterans return to Vietnam to search for the remains of their fallen squad leader (Boseman) and the promise of buried treasure. Our heroes battle forces of man and nature as they confront the lasting ravages of the immorality of the Vietnam War.
Lee also wrote the film with Kevin Willmott (‘Chi-Raq,’ ‘BlacKkKlansman’), based on an original screenplay by Danny Bilson & Paul DeMeo (1990’s ‘The Flash,’ ‘The Rocketeer’), and rewrite by Matthew Billingsly.
Also, cinematographer Newton Thomas Sigel (‘Drive,’ ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’) is onboard.
Further, filming will begin on March 18th in Vietnam and Thailand.
The film does not have a release date yet.
