Exclusive: The upcoming sequel to ‘A Quiet Place’ will wrap September 6th in New York, while the production start of July 8th remains the same.
Meanwhile, John Krasinski will be returning to direct the (currently untitled) sequel, just like the first time around.
But, Krasinski is not the only one returning, as his wife (both on-screen and in real life) Emily Blunt will reprise her role from the first movie. The capacity of Blunt’s role is unknown, as it could be anything from leading, supporting, to a cameo appearance. Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe, who portrayed the children in the first film, will also return. (Their role capacities are also unknown.)
Additionally, both Cillian Murphy (‘Free Fire,’ ‘Peaky Blinders’) and Brian Tyree Henry (‘Atlanta,’ ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’) are in talks to join the cast. The Wrap was the first to report on Tyree Henry.
The screenplay is from Krasinski, as well as Bryan Woods and Scott Peck, who wrote the original spec script for the first ‘A Quiet Place.’
It is possible, due to Krasinski’s tease on social media, that the sequel could have the title of ‘A Quiet Place: Part II.’ But as of now, we do not know.
Paramount will release the film on March 20, 2020.
