New Line’s upcoming secret horror film from director James Wan (‘The Conjuring,’ ‘Aquaman’) now has George Young cast in the male lead role opposite Annabelle Wallis (‘Tag,’ ‘The Loudest Voice’). However, his character, as well as the plot, is under wraps.
Young was recently in the CW series ‘Containment’ and EA’s video game ‘Anthem.’ He was also in Parts One and Two of Patrick Wang’s ‘A Bread Factory.’ Other credits include the BBC One series ‘Casualty,’ the Singaporean series ‘The Pupil,’ and HBO Asia’s miniseries ‘Grace.’
Meanwhile, Variety states that the title for the film is tentatively ‘Silvercup.’
Moreover, Wan and Ingrid Bisu crafted the story, while the screenplay credit is still unclear.
Additionally, on August 2nd, Wan gave some insight on this new project on Instagram:
“I’m super excited to go back to my indie roots with this hard-R thriller. An original horror idea (not a reboot/remake or anything based on existing IP) with old school, practical effects and no giant, blue screen sets.”
Further, filming will begin September 23rd in Los Angeles. After, at the top of 2020, he will start pre-production on Warner Bros.’ ‘Aquaman 2,’ releasing December 16, 2022.
There is currently no release date yet.
