D23 has made several announcements regarding casting and the director of the upcoming Marvel Studios and Disney+ limited series ‘WandaVision.’
So, without further ado, here are the new cast members and their roles:
- Kat Dennings (‘2 Broke Girls,’ ‘Big Mouth’) returning as Darcy Lewis, from ‘Thor’ and ‘Thor: The Dark World.’
- Kathryn Hahn (‘A Bad Moms Christmas,’ ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’) as the nosy neighbor.
- Randall Park (‘Fresh Off the Boat,’ ‘Always Be My Maybe’) returning as Jimmy Woo, from ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp.’
Meanwhile, Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany are reprising their roles of Wanda Maximoff and The Vision, respectively.
Moreover, director Matt Shakman will helm the series. He recently did an episode of the Amazon series ‘The Boys’ and two episodes of the seventh season of HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones.’ Other credits include 43 episodes of FXX’s ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,’ six episodes of CBS’ ‘The Good Wife, and five episodes of FOX’s ‘House.’ Next, he has an episode of Hulu’s ‘The Great,’ premiering in 2020.
Jac Schaeffer (‘Captain Marvel,’ ‘Black Widow’) wrote the pilot, and serves as executive producer and showrunner on the series.
Further, filming will begin this fall, seemingly on September 21st in Los Angeles.
The miniseries will be six episodes long, and air spring 2021, on the Disney+ streaming service.
