Exclusive: DC’s ‘Stargirl’ Episode Titles Confirm the Brainwaves, Icicle, & Stars and STRIPE Influence; Writers Room Includes Comics Veteran James Dale Robinson, Melissa Carter, Taylor Streitz, & More

Nov 7, 2019

Exclusive: With ‘Stargirl’ set to premiere sometime next year, I’ve done some digging and learned some pretty cool info.

The episode titles and writers are listed below. Oddly enough, there’s only 12, which may indicate that the season was shortened by an episode. I am also not sure on the episode order, so they’re listed alphabetically.

  • Brainwave (Colleen McGuinness)
  • Brainwave Jr. (James Dale Robinson)
  • Hourman and Dr. Mid-Nite (Melissa Carter)
  • Icicle (Colleen McGuinness)
  • Justice Society of America (Taylor Streick)
  • Pilot (Geoff Johns)
  • S. T. R. I. P. E. (Geoff Johns)
  • Shiv Part One (Evan Ball)
  • Shiv Part Two (Paula Sevenbergen)
  • Stars and S. T. R. I. P. E Part One (Melissa Carter)
  • Stars and S. T. R. I. P. E. Part Two (Geoff Johns)
  • Wildcat (James Dale Robinson)

The pilot is the first episode and Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E Part One and Part Two are the final two episodes.

Colleen McGuinness is best known for her work on ‘30 Rock’ and ‘Friends From College.’ James Dale Robinson wrote Starman for 7 years and multiple Justice Society of America comics. Melissa Carter has written multiple episodes of ‘Queen Sugar’ and ‘Famous In Love’. Taylor Streitz has written four episodes of ‘NCIS: New Orleans’. Evan Ball and Paula Sevenbergen are both making their TV writing debuts with ‘Stargirl’.

Geoff Johns is serving as showrunner and Brec Basinger stars as the titular character. Yvette Monreal (Wildcat II), Jake Austin Walker (Brainwave Jr.), Angelika Washington, Henry Thomas (Dr. Mid-Nite), Joel McHale (Starman), and Lou Ferrigno Jr. (Hourman) will also appear in the series.  The synopsis can found below.

After high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore discovers a powerful cosmic staff and that her step-father used to be a hero sidekick, she becomes the inspiration for a new generation of superheroes.

The show will bow out on DC Universe in 2020.
