Doom will emerge in 2099 with no memory but filled with fury and the desire to conquer.
In the Ravage, a man with a scarred face and no memory will be taken by Thorites and dragged through the wastes until he gets enough strength to kill his captors and set off on a journey to discover who he is.
When he reaches the home of a tinkerer, he will use the man’s lab to fashion new armor as his memories come forward and make the long trek to rediscover his home and take on the pretender to his throne. Unfortunately, his quest will reveal a tragic truth that will change everything.
The best thing about this first issue is that it confirms everything about the character of Victor Von Doom and hits the reader with an awesome and unexpected twist that will turn the entire story on its head. The plot is flawless in its execution and the story is beautifully written. Chip Zdarsky lays out a story that is engaging and intriguing and hits you with its twist at the perfect moment to make me want to read more. A great first issue.
Marco Castiello delivers some beautiful art in this issue as well. The way the characters look and the art style perfectly complement the tone that Zdarsky is going for with this story. I was blown away by everything.
