Harley is not doing well personally or professionally. Her desire to spend more time with Ivy has not only caused Ivy to seek space and time away from her, but it also put her building and its residents in the crosshairs and short fuses of a group of loan sharks looking to collect on a loan Harley took out.
When the leg breakers hurt Tony, Harley decides to put her personal issues aside and go after them. Unfortunately, their trail will lead her back to Gotham City and potentially back in the path of the Joker. Fortunately for her, there are some people looking out for her who might be exactly who she needs to team up with.
Filled with fun and energy, Conner and Palmiotti bring something fresh and vibrant to this grown up story for Harley and the other characters. The tone is light, but there is a palpable level of tension throughout as Harley makes her way back to Gotham. It’s entertaining to see how these characters come together and the whimsical tone of the story promises something lively and entertaining. I was engaged by this story and its characters, especially Harley, through the sharp and funny dialogue and can’t wait to see what twists and turns this story takes next.
Conner does some amazing with the art in this issue. All of the characters look amazing and Harley is drawn with a radiant energy that makes all of the panels featuring her seem brighter in comparison. There are some awesomely detailed backgrounds as well and I love the humor infused into the visuals.
