The casting for Steven Soderbergh’s upcoming film continues apace. Already enlisting the likes of Don Cheadle and Sebastian Stan, ‘Mad Men’ and ‘Richard Jewell’ actor Jon Hamm is the next star to join the pedigreed ensemble for Soderbergh’s ‘Kill Switch.’ Hamm will be fulfilling a role originally meant for Josh Brolin, who was forced to leave the project due to scheduling conflicts with Amazon’s ‘Outer Range’ series.

Cedric the Entertainer is also in negotiations for a role in the movie. His recent credits include ‘The Last O.G.,’ ‘The Neighborhood,’ and ‘Power.’

The film is a crime drama set in 1950s Detroit, and features a group of criminals who plan to carry out a home invasion. When the job goes south, they begin to wonder if they have a traitor in their ranks. Hamm will play the detective pursuing them.

Soderbergh is reuniting with ‘Mosaic’s Ed Solomon for this film, who wrote the screenplay. Filming is aiming to begin this summer.

There is no current home for ‘Kill Switch,’ but will likely be heading to HBO Max due to Soderbergh’s three-year deal with the studio.
