The upcoming ‘Hawkeye’ series now has two more writers onboard the crew, with Tanner Bean and Katrina Mathewson. They were both staff writers and scribes for the shows ‘Pitch’ and ‘Versus.’
Bean made the announcement on his Twitter account:
If I’d have told my 12-year-old self that I’d write on a Marvel TV show… he would’ve whipped me with his chain wallet. But here we are. #Phase4 pic.twitter.com/DO1iRqGYC4

Mathewson also made the reveal on her Twitter:
There’s virtually nothing I can tell you about the dream job @tan_bean and I recently had, but I will say this… I am now very prepared to argue for the best Avenger. 🏹
Forever grateful to both Hawkeyes (and to Marvel) for awakening my love of comic books. pic.twitter.com/1fnuxAZe3k

Meanwhile, Jeremy Renner (‘The Hurt Locker,’ ‘Wind River’) will reprise the role of the titular character. He was recently in the #1 highest grossing movie of all time: ‘Avengers: Endgame.’ His other appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe comprise of ‘Thor,’ ‘The Avengers,’ ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron,’ and ‘Captain America: Civil War.’
The series will introduce audiences to Kate Bishop, a young hero, and future Young Avenger, who learns to fights crime with a bow and arrow. Last September, it was reported that Hailee Steinfeld (‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,’ ‘Bumblebee’) was in early talks for the role. However, Apple may not allow her to take on the part, due to a non-compete clause in her contract for the series ‘Dickinson.’ Therefore, it is unclear who will play Kate Bishop as of now.
Moreover, the premise of the series is below:
“An adventure series in which Clint Barton (Renner), a non-superpowered hero, is trying to teach another hero with an affinity for the bow, Kate Bishop, how to be a hero with no super powers.”
Jonathan Igla (‘Mad Men,’ ‘Sorry for Your Loss’) serves as writer, executive producer, and showrunner.
It is a bit murky on when exactly production will begin on the series. At this point, filming has been said to start either sometime in July, August 17th, or September 28th. At the very least, we know that production will take place in Atlanta, Georgia. Depending on when filming takes place, the release of the show could be moved up, like ‘WandaVision’ and ‘Loki.’
Further, the series will likely be six episodes long. There is currently no director as of now.
‘Hawkeye’ will premiere fall 2021 (or summer 2021), on the Disney+ streaming service.
