February 2021 on Shudder

Jan 22, 2021

“February may be the shortest month of the year, but there’s no shortage of new horror next month on Shudder.”

I love that little tagline, so I just had to add it.

Ah, the month of love. Brings to mind the colors of pink, and purple, and… red. Perfect segue in to the color of horror! All throughout the month, from the first, to the twenty-seventh, Shudder is dropping some new releases, sure to tantalize your love of horror, just in time for Valentine’s Day. While they will add titles to their large catalog, like “Audrey Rose,” or the original “One Missed Call,” or the South Korean Horror film series “Whispering Corridors” (which I personally recommend), Shudder will be gaining some exclusive originals/movies, and specials. So while you wait for one of your favorite classics to show-up, keep an eye out for these:

February 4th (not long of a wait), “A Nightmare Wakes” drops on Shudder US, Canada, UK, and ANZ. If you are interested in Mary Shelley, and what may have caused her to create the Frankenstein tale we all know and love, then perhaps this is the troubling take you’ve been looking for.

After Midnight” premieres on February 11th, and sounds like a mystery Hallmark romance, with twist of a deadly creature. This is only available for Shudder US, and was selected for the Tribeca Film Festival.

Shook” drops on February 18th, and will be available on Shudder US, Canada, UK, and ANZ. If you weren’t aware of the terrors that can plague a social media star, then this film kicks it up a notch, and will surely make you think twice about how famous you want to get online.

On February 25th, “The Dark and the Wicked” premieres for Shudder US, Canada, UK, and ANZ, and was also selected for the Tribeca Film Festival. Heavy sorrow on a secluded farm from the death of their father, they soon see something is terribly wrong with their mother, but will this thing only stick with her, or spread?

And, along with new exclusive films, we have Season Two of “A Discovery of Witches” to look forward to, as well as a new special, “Joe Bob Put a Spell on You,” dropping on February 12, (and then on demand on Valentine’s Day) – Shudder’s first “Last Drive-In” Valentine’s Day Special.
