The Boarderlands Film Expands its cast with Florian Munteanu, Bobby Lee and Haley Bennett

Mar 16, 2021

Casting for Boarderlands has been on fire lately as director Eli Roth really hits the ground running with the upcoming video game adaptation. Joining mega stars Cate Blanchett, Jack Black and Kevin Heart are Florian Munteanu, Haley Bennett and Bobby Lee.

Munteanu will be inhabitation the role of Krieg, a hulking monster of the Boarderlands wasteland whom is protects Tiny Tina who will be played by Ariana Greenblatt.

Eli Roth has this to say about Munteanu joining the cast

“Florian brings real humanity and multiple layers to a character who on the surface seems totally insane and brutally savage. Krieg was by far the most difficult role to cast, and Florian brought him to life and grounded him in a way that I didn’t know was possible. He’s going to be a brilliant Krieg and will fit in perfectly with our incredible cast.”

-Eli Roth

Also joining the cast is Hillbilly Elegy and The Devil All The Time star Haley Bennett. Bennett will be playing new character created just for the film and is only described as “the key to Cate Blanchett’s character, Lillity.” IGN hypothesizes that Bennett’s character could be the “key” to how Lillith gains her powers in the film and becomes a Siren.

And finally on a Twitch stream comedian Bobby Lee confirmed he would also be joining the cast of Boarderlands.

They’re doing a movie called Boarderlands. Cate Blanchett’s in it. Jack Black. Kevin Hart. All my scenes are with Kevin Hart. Eli Roth is directing it. I don’t know how I got it. I auditioned but I don’t know how.

-Bobby Lee

Lee doesn’t provide more info on his character outside of this short statement but its safe to say he will be a companion to Kevin Hart’s Roland.

No release date is currently set for the film but we will keep you posted as more info comes in.
